It's not a leap of faith to be without belief in God. The leap is to believe. I'd think you as a Christian would know and espouse that...

Atheists and Religious Scientists prefer to say their ideas are the result of presumption at the basic level. Atheists are phobic about having the word, faith especially when it is associated with the word belief, attached to any part of their identity. At the basic level the meaning of the words belief and presumption are nearly indistinguishable except for the word belief having a strong association with Christianity or other authoritarian religions, especially when faith also introduced.

If you said do you have faith that we will ultimately discover the presence of alien life forms, many atheists would not hesitate to agree. Or if you said do you believe we can prove an evolutionary connection between humans and other primates, you would get a huge percentage of agreement.
