The bank bailout and the funding of automakers started on Bush's watch. He is socialism light and Obama is the real thing.

Actually, Bush did destroy the economy. He began the process of bailing out the banks. Contrary to Fox News, the banks actually haven't been nationalized. They were bailed out, meaning they were give money they have to repay. Most of them are raising money to pay off the TARP loans even as we speak. Finally, our healthcare system is not the best in the world. We have one of the highest infant death rates of any Western country and we have the highest per capita costs. We also have the best biotech and medical research facilities in the world. However, our healthcare system is so broken it can't translate all of our know how into actual better health for Americans than other Western developed nations. That's a travesty.

As far as the mpg standards, they are an investment that will have a tenfold return to the economy over the next 10 years. Unfortunately, you aren't schooled in finance so you don't understand that you can't judge an investment by its costs alone...you also have to look at the benefits to see if it's a worthy investment. I've noticed all you Fox News watchers don't understand basic analysis methodologies such as cost/benefit analysis. Please go back to school and educate yourself so that you can seriously contribute to the debate.
