Hawkman let me explain again. The statisticians say it is a statisitical ceertainty if we keep nuclear weapons we wil use them.

YOu really need to gain some respect for science!

The above makes everything you say below, moot.

>>The above are not capable of destroying the world!

Nuclear weapons are.

That's BS. Were it true, then any of the multitudes of asteroids which have struck this planet would have left FOREVER a blackened cinder in space.

What nuclear weapons COULD do would be to wipe out a good portion of species on the planet.

But the point is that, without them, the likelihood of war between the superpowers would INCREASE, not decrease.

The only thing that holds them in check is the desire to avoid direct confrontation and escalation to a nuclear exchange.

There would have been NO WWII had all the major powers possessed nuclear weapons. Hitler would never have dated attack France or England, nor Russia. And Japan would never have dared attack <<

Why must we conduct our foreign policy at the level of
five year olds in a sandbox ?? In the final analysis it
always seems to devolve to "Give me what I want or I'll
blow you up" .. and I was worried about the consequences
of Peak Oil .. Silly me ..

Triff ..
