California has become completely ungovernable. Legislature won't make any decisions, so they try these special elections instead. Whole state now has the Los Angeles mentality. People are just passing through - no sense of ownership, belonging, or concern for the long run.

Why not just make it a law that any special election must have a proposal on it that reduces CURRENT politician salaries by an additional 10%?

That will solve the problem real quick, and guarantee high voter turnout. 5 special elections and congressional pay is cut 41%

I wonder how much state money is spent to hold each special election.
