There is a big difference between volume and actual political support; Rush's audience is less than 10% of the total population, and most of those who don't listen to him have a negative image of him.

He might get elected as a senator or governor from a very rightwing state; but I'd bet a large amount he could not win a statewide race in his home state of Florida, since its electorate is too varied for a belligerent winger politician to succeed.

Yes, but if only Republicans could change the Constitution so only Republicans have the right to vote.
