"Even this isn't true. In string theory there is both a beginning and on going eternity. Same with the expanding-collapsing universe model. And with time being a property of our universe, it doesn't make any sense to talk about time outside of our universe."

Using the term beginning to identify points in a process was not the context, the context was an absolute beginning which is not compatible with the concept of an eternal universe. Of course a tree has a beginning, a growth, death, and decomposition and there is a life cycle that extends to progeny and heritage which you may argue goes on forever or there may be an absolute beginning of tree life or life itself.

"And with time being a property of our universe, it doesn't make any sense to talk about time outside of our universe."

I agree. Time is a dimension of temporal existence and has no other application. Eternity is not contained within that concept just like infinity is not contained within the concepts of cosmic limitations.
