No one is talking about unilateral disarmaemnt. We are talking about everyone disarming together. Cannot happen... I understand your stats koan ...but that includes a renegade strike by some terrorist group I imagine.. not the same as all out war...I think the odds of all out war are even less than in the Kruschev shoe banging days... because the blowback is all the more awesome.. No one is talking about unilateral disarmaemnt. We are talking about everyone disarming together. And exactly how are you going to accomplish that? Pakistan and N. Korea were selling nuclear and rocket technology for hard capital and regional influence. Iran was financing (and N. Korea building) a nuclear reactor in Syria. Iran is threatening (regardless of whether it's a bluff) to wipe Israel off the map.. You just can't get non-democratic regimes to give up that great nuclear equalizer, if they see a chance of obtaining it without political repercussions. And they know that obtaining nuclear weapons will provide them the shield they require in order to remain in power. You're unrealistic and living in a fantasy land. The only way the human species survives the modern age of technology is through world peace and looking to our scientists and compassionate intellectuals for advice Who do you think invented those nuclear weapons in the first place?
