That is a poor argument Tejek. Just a senseless jab at conservatives. We have high crime statistics in every category unrelated to guns. "According to the Rape, Abuse, and Incest National Network (RAINN) Statistics website , there were 247,730 victims of rape, attempted rape or sexual assault in the United States in 2002. Approximately 87,000 of these were victims of completed rape." We brag about our women's rights movement being a lib thing, should we blame a quarter million rape/assault per year statistic on liberals?

If one takes the second amendment literally, folks in order to have a militia that could compete with a supposed anti-demo military would have to be outfitted with machine guns etc. To hunt and enjoy shooting as a support all one needs is a rifle or even a handgun but why shouldnt this right be regulated. Folks in the gun lobby are extremists---for the militia they want all weapons and for the hunter/sportsman no regulation as in who cares who has a gun. 2nd amendment needs to be rewritten. It isnt 1790 anymore and if you can have automobile regulation, why not guns?
