People are resiliant... in the long run they'll do what they have to. Clearly you may not have all the baby boomers hanging out playing golf and sipping spiked punches on the back patio of their fairway homes. OTOH, this will save Trillions over time: medicalacupuncture.org And when people learn to die with dignity instead of blowing hundreds of thousands of taxpayer money in the last year of life, we'll save more Trillions. IMHO THE GREATEST CHALLENGE of the dems and any health care plan is going to be.......... What will actually be provided to whom. Who gets a transplant, who doesnt... who get what near the end of life and how is it decided? we can't go on going everything possible just to keep a patient breathing at any cost. It's stupid and it's actually probably immoral. DAK

I agree with you. It's hard to find a single thing Bush did right during his administration and the GOP was complicit. However, if I remember correctly, you asked me what ideas do the GOP have that are better than the Dems. To that question, I answered their ideas on social security. I like their ideas more than the Dem ideas on that issue. I think that it is fundamentally wrong for me to pay for the retirees of today. Instead, everyone who puts money into the system should have that money tagged to their own social security number. There should be a mandated minimum and if you put more in, then you should get more out. This common pool idea is not sustainable and is not fair.
