As background, Republicans may invoke their right to have the whole bill read aloud–all 946 pages. If that happens, Democrats are ready with a plan:

THEY'VE HIRED A SPEEDREADER! I kid you not. The first estimates I've seen is for our electric bill here in CA to increase 90% and gasoline costs to increase 70%. This is stunning. Good luck everybody that buys an electric car that GM's gonna make for you and Team Obama is going to force you to buy. Your overnite fillup is going to cost a fortune.

once the this regime is in place, watch for the 'incredible shrinking cap' (the smaller the cap, the more industry will have to pay, which of course, like any other tax will be passed on to the consumer)
