sb, your data is not as reliable as it could be and this hurts your credibility. just what is your source? did you check your retirement numbers with the teacher retirement site?

calrta.org
--Most retired teacher have to pay for their own health insurance in retirement.

--Teachers’ pensions are not lavish. The average teacher replaces only two-thirds of their working income with their teachers’ pension. Financial experts say you need to replace nearly 90 percent of your working income in order to have a secure retirement.

--Teachers and their local school districts pay most of the cost of retirement. The state pays only a small fraction of pension costs.

--Teachers receive less pay during their working career than people with comparable educations in other fields. Guaranteed pensions are one way we can compete for qualified individuals to teach.

the site is certainly not unbiased. still, your mystery radio source needs new glasses. -g-

cheers!
