jh: Because that is not what the contract says.

Of course that's not what it says. The people who have the most at stake have the least amount of control.

I think you are getting to the heart of the matter. You, like Obama, are just fine in discarding the rule of law for a short term gain, call it by some abstract terms (social justice), or what it really is - paying off political contributors (corruption).

Its you who doesn't seem to understand. When a company goes into Chapter 11, contracts can be voided or altered by the judge if its to the benefit of the surviving company.

I think it is a very slippery slope to be on. You may think it is a noble end. I think it is a dubious one at best. You think ends justify the means, I don't.

Its business. The hedge funds took a risk and it didn't pan out. I thought you were a proponent for capitalism. Has something changed?

What I find amusing is your continued defense of hedge funds. Hedge funds are some of the least scrupulous, legal businesses in this country, and yet, you feel they need defending. You might want to review your values. That's where the slippery slope seems to come into play.
