Cheap as borscht.

Underground mining cannot be done more cheaply generally unless you are an absolute genius like me.

Open pit mining and milling is up to 10 times cheaper however, often 2 to 4 times cheaper.

They need higher grade, but usually they have it.

Learning curve will bring the price down to 40 dollars in 3 to 5 years and 25 dollars within 7. Same as Oil sands, which started off higher than the price of oil, with no discernible economies, except the learning curve and the migration of better more economic labour groups. This was sufficient to generate a profit as it was predicted it would by far thinking economic thinkers in 1968.

However sea bottom ore is already economic on paper as long as you move your hands broadly across the blueprints or wave the laser pointer fast enough. They just have to get the rag out, get the tech perfected and get on with it. Law of the sea, markets, some tech, etc.. have to be eased into however. There is always manoeuvering on the board as these things unfold.
