You'd have to pay for your idea...which I assume would mean raising taxes. You can't open up facilities without supervision and without extra janitorial and support staff. Right? So maybe the negatives (taxes) would support the positives (more access to equipment). As far as I know all sporting enterprises do use the equipment at our school- as long as they pay a usage fee to cover the cost of janitors and support staff. There are several "private" companies that run basketball, soccer, football, lacrosse, swimming and baseball camps and leagues. So really, what you suggest is already happening. Just not 24 hours a day.

Of course running them 24 hours would be problematic for neighbors who want to sleep. Most sporting fields where I live are surrounded by houses- houses where, presumably, people want to sleep some of the time. Noise statutes would be a problem for 24 hour operation.

While I'm sure you'd like to believe it's all the fault of the democrats and the trial lawyers that your ideas couldn't come to fruition, that isn't the case.
