Globex trades at 9 pm as follows:

GLOBEX PRICES AS OF 10/27/97 09:01 PM TRADE DATE: 10/28/97

CONTRACT LAST NET CHGE CONTRACT LAST NET ----
S&P 500 DEC97 859.00 -1500 M-PESO DEC97 .112000

E-MINI DEC97 859.00 -1500 REAL NOV97 .90040P ----
MAR98 869.50 -1500 RAND FUT DEC97 .206000P ----
NSDQ100 DEC97 953.10 -2590 KIWI FUT DEC97 .6199A

As you can see S&P is lock limit down, NAZ 100 is down 25 points, open tomorrow is Dow down 200-300, Nasdaq down 40-60. Dow futures probably accelerating decline. Look for US Tresuries to still be the source of monetary security. Hong Kong and foreign dollars will continue to flee en masse to US Bond market. Watch US bond yield, it is going to defy previous yield floor. Unfortunately I think that profit takers are still trying to unload. Example today folks were trying to dump money center banks, Citicorp one example. CCI, 40000 offered for sale, 500 buyers. UNREAL!!!! Hong Kong at 10:12 pm is down 15%. Thats a 30% drop in one month. Somebody needs to defend Hong Kong currency (ie. IMF or HOng KOng) or they need to decouple the stupid currency from the dollar (unlikely).

Good Luck, we are going to need it.

The Intel Page

Oh yeh, by the way Intel-DEC settled, the reason for the Forth Worth plant delay was because Intel will take over a DEC plant in the area.
IA-64 to become UNIX future. Things are looking up, even though Wall Street may not see it that way right now.

Max, i have an open mind, and just which OS will compete w. msft?

msft does not live on OS alone you know. In 5 yrs, msft will be
in business you and I can not even imagine.

Still this is high-tech and that is what keeps me on the edge of
this exciting event. Nothing boarin here.

10-15 yrs ago NSM was the king now Intel is in power, yes anything can change but I don't see another OS developer.

Even SUNW will switch to NT in 3 yrs.
