Edward. I think you should approach it like this. Decide whether you think the market will stop dropping tomorrow. If you think it will, pick a stock you have been eyeing and set a reasonable limit order for half of your desired amount.

Say you want 200 more IOM. And you think it will bottom out tomorrow at 22. Put a limit order in at 22 1/4 for 100. If it hits, set another limit for the other 100 at 20. Then you can root for it either way. Eventually, they will both pay off, in the mean time, you can enjoy an adulterated version of the pleasure a shorty experiences during a correction. (no this is not S&M, it's NYSE)

RE: Getting back in

Edward,

>Or CNBC is doing all they can to scare the shit out of everyone.
<snip>
>I've never seen anything like this and don't know what to do.

Let's see. First, if you want to retain the credibility of
your "I'm only 13" claim, you might consider using four-letter
words less often. <g>

Second, if you're not too greedy, just sit tight for the next
day or week or whatever until the indexes go a little flat or
even start up a little bit. Sure, you won't catch the bottom
exactly, but you also won't catch a falling knife that way.
If you wait until I say, then buy equities with solid
fundamentals and appealing PEs, they'll go up, and you'll
make money.

End of sermon.

Cheers despite the "big drop at the open", just announced
on CNBC (oooooh, big surprise), Tom (long IOM)
