No its easily knowable.

The information as to the US GDP, and the GDP of the other countries at the time is easily available.

US GDP in 1944 was $1499 bil (in 1990 dollars) (from my previous source and also from onwar.com )

The US spent 37.8% of GDP on the military so that's $566.6 bil (again in 1990 dollars)

No other country in the world had a GDP that was as high as our military spending.


The info you pulled is based on the dollar for all countries.....how is that an apples to apples comparison? For an example, the Deustchmark had been greatly devalued during the 1920s and 1930s due to hyperinflation.

What I was looking for was a percent of GDP based on each country's currency. I couldn't find such a comparison.
