All of us are promoters. Anytime we eat something. Wear something. Buy something. Talk about something. It's all promotion. When we go inside someplace, it's a promotion. When we eat someplace, it's a promotion. When we post on a message board, it's a promotion. The only thing that is really different is the effect. Case in point: if Michael Jordon eats a Big Mac, it sends a message to everyone that sees him do it, including everyone that sees a picture of him eating the Big Mac, and including everyone hearing someone say he ate a Big Mac. Here's the message... BIG MACS TASTE GOOD TO MICHAEL JORDON. HE EATS THEM, AND THEY MIGHT BE THE SECRET TO BEING JUST LIKE MICHAEL JORDAN. Ok, but what about if Joe Blow eats a Big Mac? Is that a promotion? Yes, of course, it's just not as effective. It still says the same thing... BIG MACS TASTE GOOD TO JOE BLOW. HE EATS THEM, AND THEY MIGHT BE THE SECRET TO BEING JUST LIKE JOE BLOW. Same thing. M.J. and J.B. both just promoted a Big Mac. More than likely M.J.'s promotion is going to mean more to the world. Of course, it's also far more likely that MJ could get paid for his promotion, while JB would have to to pay to promote. So again I promote the idea that we are all promoters. We all have reasons behind what we are posting, and those reasons are what drive us to promote in the first place. Can you see your own reasons, and can you see that a promotion is a promotion is a promotion? Unless, of course, the promotion is just a lie, because the promoter does not like Big Mac's at all. Perhaps he is being paid to act like he likes Big Macs. Of course, that is not promotion at all. That is PUSHING SOMEONE ELSE'S PROMOTION, which is prostitution. Which is why neither you, nor I like the idea that someone is saying we are getting paid to post. For the record, I don't think you are a prostitute, and thank you for saying that you don't think I am either. Promotion is not prostitution. Big difference in expressing your beliefs, and getting paid to express the belief's of someone else - ESPECIALLY IF YOU DO NOT LIKE BIG MACS! GB-ND creede ragingbull.quote.com
