I was unaware Krauthammer was in a wheelchair, but I've long considered him a brilliant man.

I worked in a spinal rehabilitation hospital once and I know better than to underestimate a person's mental or physical capabilities. Paraplegics usually have a lot of upper body strength from pushing a chair. An amusing story from those days was a paraplegic that tore into a fellow who called him a cripple. He quickly learned that was a mistake. This paraplegic was an American Indian we called "Chief" who latched onto the fellow with one hand and proceeded to show him who the cripple was with the other.

Time's Joe Klein Says People in Wheelchairs Can't 'See' the World?

Only a first class all-time asshole would say this!

Ya gotta love the fact that the 'wheelchair' comment came from a guy who voted for a guy who never accomplished a damn thing in life except by working the politics of affirmative action and the left.

Tonight, over a delicious meal of Veal Marsala and a lovely bottle of Two Vines wine my husband and I (and no.....I won't marry you ;) were having a conversation and there was a difference of opinion. For what ever reason, he was doing his best to try to destroy my argument. Of course that didn't work and so the conversation just wasn't going anywhere. I suggested that the only way we were going to be able to communicate was if we both agreed that we shouldn't let our opinions limit our understanding of one another. Hard, I know, but definitely not impossible.

When we both accepted that premise the conversation blossomed I made the commented that if the day ever comes where all people are willing to practice listening we'd be able to "see" a lot further than we do.

I really hope this happens.

It would be an incredible evolutionary step and imo get us closer to understanding one another and our world.

I don't think it is a disease among the left and believe we are all guilty of making that mistake. Albeit some are more guilty of that trait than others.

People naturally put up walls. Berlin, Great, Jamie Gorelik, so it must be something ingrained in us.........that's a whole nuther topic.....but if we want our world to be a better place and make logical decisions that ensure our safety we need to stop building those darned walls.

Especially the kind of walls Klein insists on building.
