I hear you, but if there is no meat to be had, then you can't force someone to give what they don't have. Right now, we are forcing everyone to give entitlement benefits, that our government simply cannot afford. We're borrowing money from the rest of the world to continue with these entitlements. Something has to give. Either we cut back on spending and entitlements or one day we'll wake up to a world that refuses to lend us more money. Then we'll be forced to cut back, because there won't be any more money to give.

Think of it this way. The government is forcing me to give my money to today's retirees. After last year's market crash, my own retirement is in serious jeopardy. As a result, instead of me focusing my own money to rebuild my retirement, I'm forced to give a substantial amount of money to people that are retired today. That means that when I retire, my kids are going to be forced to give me some of their money to pay for my retirement.

At the end of the day, we are passing the buck down to future generations. I don't know about you, but I don't want to be a burden to my kids or to your kids. Let me have the money that is made by the value of my own labor and I'll make damn sure I'm no burden to anyone.
