That seems like a reasonable rate of taxation and revenue.


The cost of living is way above the national average in CA. For an example, I paid 2 1/2 times the amount for car insurance as I pay here. Property insurance is 3-4 times more expensive than here. CA is an expensive place within which to operate. Sales and income taxes are not enough to make up for the shortfall in property taxes caused by Prop 13.
