Brumar - I agree. Where I hold Bush responsible is for not taking critical issues to the public. On Freddie and Fannie his administration was correct. Then they ran into Barney and Chris. They folded like a wet blanket. This was a critical turning point where Bush should have taken the issue to the public. When one is the leader it is not enough to be correct - leadership is required. In effect - Bush allowed Barney Frank to escape his role in the ruination of the economy. It was almost like challenging Freddie and Fannie was like a third rail in respect to being against them was racially tinged.
