I disagree. Sec. Treas. Rubin is jawboning Germany and their recovery.
Watch the Europeans for a glimmer of hope.

Well Nekki has been down a pretty steady 3.5 to 4%, but Hang Seng keeps on trending lower, now over 14% -don't you think the sheer size of the number will have a bad impact. And New Zeland is down 12% - what did they ever do wrong?

Iqbal, NEKKEI is making a 7-year low. It does not go that much lower compared with HongKong because it has been down for too long. Why do you think it is the key to watch to pick the bottom here?

Ike, good evening...re: Hong Kong..i read somewhere

that Beijing would like Shanghai to be the financial
center for China, as there is a standing 50 year
hands-off commitment to HK.

coulod this be one reason Hang Seng is tanking beyond
imagination?

just musing...//dom

Iqbal

Well, we are seeing some weakness in the $ this AM and the bond surged yesterday afternoon and has stayed unchanged this AM.

Does this weaken your argument that smart money is NOT leaving equities, in particular US equities?
