RE: Restaurants - Mall knock on effect.

A good post BC.

I just had a wild idea. Most of these chain restaurants are located on/near/within malls. We know that the malls are dead. I suspect that a certain about of volume comes from shoppers who intended to cook at home but spent longer looking at shoes in Macy's then intended, got hungry and tired, and dove into the closest eatery.

Just a thought.

Probably more true for "Cinabuns" than Olive Garden. Still, driving is down significantly, and I assume that figures in long trips. All of those rest stop restaurants - Sabaros - are probably getting squeezed on that.
