This is the same argument Hamiliton/Adams were having with Jefferson--the words are different but the principles are the same.

The reason I think our system, with all its faults, works (in the sense it has survived change and changed with it) is that it lets differing classes and ideas compete for the main piece of the pie. Its inherently fair in that sense. It has rewarded both people with property and those without.
