Cypress Semi came out and said they are buying back 2 Mil shares.
I guess TJ had to do something besides making Wine. I think we could use a few more compnaies announce by backs (even if they do not fully exercise) to restore investor confidence. This is important since I feel most of the carnage is irrational exuberence (sp).

yeah faced with an oncoming storm you fasten the hatches and dig in. you certainly don't blow your defences to stabalize a stock that will be fine in time anyway.

Dave,
Don't forget that AMAT uses a high % of their sales income to
fund the R&D, otherwise Uncle Sam just takes it away as taxes
on earnings from sales. The money in the kitty is for investments and
rainy years where there is very little income. If anything the cash
will be available to pick up some new technology that AMAT
feels has the most future growth potential for the next 5-10 years,
like maybe X-ray lithography or ion/electron beam lithography, which
will take devices to 0.02uM potentially.

just my opinion,
BB
