This "immunity" often extends to his wife, girl friend, family, friends etc etc etc. Some of this will always happen. But today Police are more and more segregated from the citizens they serve. I blame a lot of it on the "SWAT" mentality brought on by federal funding of these teams. Another source of it that is not seen is the treatment of people by Federal police. One of the advantages of our system is the local control of police. Most Countries have their police Federalized. This leads to a lot of abuses. The expansion of our Federal police systems is going to backfire. Our Liberals who applaud this expansion don't realize who badly they treat people.
