Global zinc market in surplus

The global zinc market was in surplus by 187,000 tonnes between January and March 2009, the International Lead and Zinc Study Group said.

Global zinc production totalled 2.605 million tonnes compared with consumption of 2.418 million tonnes.

The January to March 2009 surplus compares with a 88,000-tonne surplus the same period a year before. – Business Line
