More hints that Apple's sales should pick up this quarter--

The Power Computing homepage says that as of Oct. 6 all PowerBases are gone and half of the high end systems are gone forever as well.

New Mac Zone catalog has big price drops on all Apple machines which makes me think that . . .

. . . inventory is being cleared out for G3 systems which will be available in decent quantities. I'm hopeful about this, because the first chips were available in September. Hopefully an extra month-plus of production by Motorola will allow the inventory to build up.

Also, the eMate is available to the general public and given prominence in the catalog.

Finally, Dataquest and others are predicting an improvement in the general PC market this quarter in Japan. Hopefully we can avoid another disaster over there.

PS--Apple is not planning on replacing the 3400s with the new "Kanga" PB, but instead moving the 3400 to the mid-range. Yowza! Our mid-range will be about as fast as the fastest Intel portable.
