Maybe in the past but they show little sign of it today.

Then why did so much of America's media support the invasion of Iraq when it made little sense?

Ever consider that you might be wrong instead of them? Or that if they where wrong it was because of something other than media bias? Certainly the media didn't overwhelming support the idea of the invasion before it happened, and it criticized, argued against, or portrayed it in a bad light, to a great extent later on.

and agreed to be embedded with the army.

That doesn't indicate support.
