VANCOUVER, BRITISH COLUMBIA--(MARKET WIRE)--May 25, 2009 -- Kodiak Exploration Ltd. (CDNX:KXL.V - News)(Frankfurt:KX3.F - News) is pleased to report the resumption of exploration activities at its 100% controlled Hercules Project, located in the Beardmore-Geraldton gold district of Western Ontario. Trenching, geologic mapping, sampling and diamond drilling are planned for the next five months and will be focused on the Golden Mile vein system, seeking extensions to known gold mineralization, characterizing rock quality and evaluating possible locations and scenarios for bulk sampling. Following completion of additional geologic reconnaissance and trenching, drilling will then proceed to the northwest, exploring the area between the northwest end of the Golden Mile and Sage Gold's Golden Extension discovery four kilometres to the northwest. Simultaneously, Kodiak's geologic team will continue the evaluation of its extensive Beardmore-Geraldton land package. This regional exploration program will consist of geologic reconnaissance, trenching and diamond drilling. Drilling is anticipated at the company's Wildgoose option in addition to follow-up drilling at several of the most promising targets generated during 2008's comprehensive regional exploration program. First phase diamond drilling at both Hercules and the regional targets is expected to total at least 15,000 metres. Kodiak's management team is committed to growing shareholder value through exploration of its existing gold and uranium projects, accelerating the development of the Hercules Project and aggressively pursuing strategic opportunities, including acquisitions, which meet corporate goals for expansion and growth.

The geological information for the Hercules Project has been reviewed and approved by Robert B. Hawkins, Kodiak's Chief Geologist, who is a qualified person under the definitions established by National Instrument 43-101.
