<Some diplomatic veterans who have spoken with him have told us that the president said that he did not realize, when he came to office, how "hard" the Iran problem would be.>

the president said that he did not realize, when he came to office, how "hard" the Iran problem would be.

Of course. He thought he could wax rhapsodic and lay some of his silver-tongued rhetoric on the Iranians and all would be well in the world.

The guy's biggest fault is he believes his own press.

Obama's out there with "a smile and a shoeshine."

Not for long, because I think the Iranians are catching on, and saying to themselves, why limit ourselves to a gentle poke when a big shove might have spectacular payoffs? There is practically nothing to fear from this guy.
