Why "Voters...get what they deserve, good and hard!" Ignorance. Lack of culture. The age of the rich ignoramus has ended. The youngsters have to learn and smart up. Because they cannot be like their fathers, who, did not learn the lessons of history and could have a high standard of living. I'm not saying the other countries are full of educated people. They have a lot to learn too. What I am saying is that, given their different mindsets, just a little improvement in the level of their education is showing to be enough to provide competition to the OECD countries.
