In Alaska, she increased the GOP's votes in the 2008 election by a mere 1742 votes over the 2004 election. Not very good for a local candidate, esp. since Obama had more than 11,000 votes than Kerry.

Obama didn't win Alaska but he picked up nearly 6x the extra votes than Palin....in her own state.

Folks who count votes have written her off. She is loved without qualification by a certain faction of the GOP in much the same way that Obama is loved by a certain faction of the Dems. Neither can do any wrong. Of course, the faction that is in love with Palin is not a very big one.

It's about the votes and main stream American voters wrote her off a long time ago.

I expect her to run for something in 2012, but it will be a quixotic campaign. Her family and her foibles have a long time in which to torpedo her. I suspect they will.
