Control the world? This does not sound like feasible. The US with the materiel in place cannot, imagine starting from that level which Iran has. Second, if we look to the past, they could not even project power across the Shat el Arab, imagine across Hormuz Straight! The dream you talk about is also from a tiny minority inside the regime, perhaps gorging in money from the military-industrial complex. Those military industrial complexes are the same the world over. Israel not being an exception. We need trade. Thus they have to thaw!
