Army chief says US ready to be in Iraq 10 years

I am lurking for tonight only.
Have to comment on that one.

General Casey is the perfect example of the peter principle at work. He lost his part of the war in Iraq...then got promoted.
Now his ego can't let it go.

I spent the weekend with a group of real warriors. A 10 year SEAL Veteran, USAF pilots and other SOF types.

The SEAL told me he has been on 40 deployments. Including multiple trips to Afghan and Iraq. I asked for his assessment of the bottom line....He replied, "There is nothing in either country worth fighting for because there is nothing worth winning."

He was very in tune with and very knowledgeable about the Vietnam war. He had questions about the movie I am in. We agreed that with the bulking up of conventional US Forces, what we are witnessing is the vietnamization of the war in Afghanistan.
