Contrafactual history can be an interesting exercise. I think Spain would have done better by not exiling the Jews and Moors, but would still have choked on the massive amounts of gold from the new world.

Italy, Turkey and many other places would have lost out.

Much of Florida would still be a swamp if it wasn't for people fleeing Castro.
