When I read your post I thought Ros-Lehtinen and Collins were saying all gays should receive special treatment by having their health care subsidized by govt. I re-read it and thought......well.......don't we do that here in Wa State? If you are a liberal politician, you have to believe the logical next step is fully insuring gays who work for the feds.

I have a friend who works for the local school dist and she is distraught. Like everyone else, her employer has been told to make cuts. She could lose her job, although she does have quite a bit of seniority so I doubt she will.

She was also told to be prepared to start paying taxes on her earnings before paying her part of her medical premium. Oh......she's pretty angry and scared about that...but an avid The One supporter.

I just smiled and told her she has been getting a free ride by being allowed to pay her health premiums and then being taxed on what's left and that we must be good little citizens by pitching in and doing our part to "fund govt."

She recognized my usual sarcasm, but I also realize taxing income before medical premiums would help pay those premiums for domestic partners.

Govt has it all figured out.
