My point is that Sotomayer can't be stopped and there's nothing to be gained by making it a wedge between Republicans and Hispanics.

As a minimum, I would like the republicans on the committee to ask her to explain some of the statements she has made; some of her judicial decisions; and her current views on how a justice should use and view the Constitution as part of reaching a decision in a case before her. They need to get into the Obama philosophy thing about empathy versus the rule of law.

Kyl, Grassley and Session voted against her appellate confirmation, if I recall correctly. Hopefully that will embolden them to be a tad blunt with her.

I am interested in how Tom Coburn plays this out too.
