Do you think we should keep Gitmo open or do you agree that it should be closed?

Pretty obvious.. Keep it open.

We have no other choice except rendition to some other country's prison system.

I personally just believe the American people need to come to grips with the fact that there are dangerous people who dearly wish to kill us and destroy our way of life. I think they should be treated as saboteurs and spies and executed. They're not wearing a uniform, represent no signatory to the Geneva protocols, thus should receive no benefit of those protections.

But we need a new international treaty that lays out those definitions. Maybe use the English Maritime law relating to piracy as a guide since it permitted violators to be drawn and quartered upon conviction by an Admiralty Court.. ;0)

Btw, it's not just terrorism that is outside of the current international legal mandates, it's piracy as well. That's why we've been hesitant to deal with the Somali piracy issue more forcefully. There is no legal framework for dealing with them that doesn't involve nations bearing the cost of trying and convicting them in their own national courts.

However, Piracy is primarily maritime theft and sabotage, whereas Terrorism is a political act of war by a non-state actor.
