You're not missing anything, and I'm not looking for a fight. I'm merely expressing a POV, and pointing out some facts.

You get more car for less money now. Is that inflationary?

More house, for less. The price may even be less than the cost (depending when it was built).

More gas for less than a year ago.

Friedman said, "...inflation is always and everywhere a monetary phenomenon."

Canada is practicing monetary policy with a vengeance, but the CAD is rising, and inflation is tame.

Strength of currency can defy monetary policy, inflation, and Mr. Friedman. Economics is much more than numbers; they are outcomes. Inputs are many, subtle, and often difficult to quantify.
