Serge for the DOW I'll believe the 6,200. But I have not checked anything out so can't say for sure. Don't know about the other indices. My sense is that there is a lot more panic selling to comes. Check this out:

quote.yahoo.com

someone is profiting off of this craziness! Dare I say bear market? I'll blame INTC as well for making some of the most ill-timed bone-headed announcements one could imagine (Friday - screwed up flash memory announcement, Mon - Pentium II). The argument about capital spending slowdowns in the far east and the U.S. companies that will be hurt as a result is a good one I think. The rest of the connection I do not believe for now. It could certainly hurt us badly down the road. For one I'll take a wait-and-see attitude. The IMF should bail - out those economies (just threw this one out there!).

Funny thing I actually think the US Economy is fine. But the market psychology sucks and it has been sucking for quite a long while. One of my tipoffs for the sell-off was the plunging Taiwan stock prices for TSM (I posted this on this thread some time ago). Reason being that tech stocks were the anchor and the anchor was about to be cut. There is no place else to put the money for now since the big caps earnings are slowing down and the small caps and mania stocks have already taken off. The speculative bubble though not as big as it used to be had happened - see SI - Internet telephony stocks! Oh man.. talk about gambling...

Funny how it is always something unexpected that ends the big dance.
