Both Disney and GE are known as conservative companies.

Maybe in the past but they show little sign of it today.

They have always been conservative and they always will be conservative.

Disney has been controlled by liberals since Disney died. He may have been a bit of a liberal himself. However lately GE has been controlled by avowed socialists.

They have always been conservative and they always will be conservative.

Not if we judge by (at least) their current/recent actions.

The war was wrong and the media supported it.

It wasn't wrong and they opposed it to a great extent.

It sure doesn't suggest independence.

It suggests seeking access which is probably a higher priority for the press than any ideological idea.

GE conservative? Didn't take long for the "conservative" GE to shut your hero Cramer up after criticizing Obama...
