What a fear mongered moron you are Hugh. China wants to make money and raise up it's still largely peasant population - not conquer it's customers (neighbors). Russia has been there and done that with Eastern Europe - it's doesn't have designs there. S. Korea could take out N. Korea any time it wants to, all by itself. It takes MONEY to make war, and N. Korea doesn't have any. China and Russia would watch the show. You're living in the Cold War past. But, your not alone. The military-government-industrial complex WANTS you to stay fearful. Why else will a very safe country with 5% of the worlds population spend as much as the rest of the ENTIRE WORLD on defense?

I see about 250,000 totally unnecessary foreign deployments. How much would ending THAT save? It wouldn't save anything but money, but it would lose the war in Iraq, SK and Japan would be communist, possibly Russia would again take over eastern Europe, and we would have very little choice but to kowtow to Russia, China, and NK. Absolutely ridiculous.....what keeps the other countries at bay is our nuclear arsenal.
