Since Assault Weapons Ban Lifted, At Least 163 Dead, 185 Wounded, 15 Police Officers...

Even accepting your source without challenge (its from a biased source but that doesn't automatically make it wrong, and I don't want to spend the time research the issue myself now, and while I suspect bias sources a bit, I don't support calling them wrong or totally ignoring them just based on their bias), how many have been killed with other types of weapons?

How many would have been killed by this same type of weapon if it had been illegal? (Probably almost as many)

More to the point how many of those 163 would have lived if these weapons where not banned? Perhaps zero. The "military style assault weapons" (which aren't actually like the weapons used by the military), don't do much of anything that couldn't be done with another weapon. I suppose a specific person who already had that type of weapons could have been arrested for it and thus been prevented from killing someone, but most people would have either ignored the law and gotten away with it (at least until they killed or wounded someone), or substituted another weapon, which could have resulted in more deaths. At close range a shotgun is a more efficient killer. At long range an ordinary hunting rifle is better. Also hand guns are more concealable and so its harder to stop their users. Substituting other weapons could have increased the death toll.

I'll make you a deal ted, you get all alcoholic beverages banned, and I'll help you get all assault weapons banned.

43,443 alcohol related vehicle fatalities, 100k deaths alcohol related health issues, that's 150k dead....PER YEAR.

Find some balance ted, not emotional sound bites you read on the Internet...
