Concept of trip wire may be outdated. Its an irritant for the North in an old fashioned sense and if war breaks out lines will be quickly pierced and casualties will be high leading to devastating american response and more death. Without us there, i am not sure it will increase the risk of North attack. And at the end of the day, behind the 30K americans South will have to defend their country. Truth is whether we are there or not, Seoul probably will be destroyed.
Now is not the time to pull out, i agree. But over time we should reexamine based on the above.
