That assessment is a bit drastic. Options trading is not
very different from other types of trading, although
there are specifics. In particular, you really wanna do
a high probability hit (and then run). Of course,
most traders lose money, and out of the money
options provide an excellent opportunity to do it
a whole lot faster. <g>

There are strategies that are quite complex, and
you are free to do all kinds of crap with various risk
profiles. It can be no different than trading leveraged
ETFs, for example, if you want it to be that way.
FAS and FAZ are the same as call and put options on the
appropriate financial index, for example.
