Little uncertainty yes, but it's not a foregone conclusion. There are additional possible steps, some quite drastic, that can be taken.

Everybody loves Apocaplypse Now. It's part of the current Wall Of Worry.

Very few appear to be discussing economic survival techniques for the country. Surprising.

Inflation "is" default.

your remark is not exactly "War is Peace", but it's pretty close in terms of ludicrousness. a non sequitur to put it kindly.

everybody who buys debt knows about this thing called inflation of which you speak. it is not a surprise; it is expected. the government even invented a special category of bonds called TIPS for people who are scared of inflation.
