Tench, They only do in the sense that, if another war broke out, North Korea is depending on them to bail them out yet again. Which China can't really say no to, either. Why not at this time? Joe

Korea, without China's permission, launched a war against the south, KNOWING that America would come in on the south side - do you REALLY think China would back N. Korea? I think they'd either stay neutral or pitch in with us. China doesn't have any military designs on S. Korea. They want to sell more cars in America than S. Korea, but that's about the extent of their designs at this time.

Which China can't really say no to, either. NK has been and continues to be a satellite of China and there exists a major trading arrangment between the two countries. I am not sure why you are saying the above but I am 100% certain Kim jumps to the demands China makes. Now if what NK is doing rattles the cage of Japan and the West and it doesn't hurt China, China will do nothing. But when NK starts shaking its nukes in the face of Japan and shows some serious irrationality, you can bet your bootie that China will step up the pressure. So far, China has only made a few public comments and that seems to have quieted down the idiots that run NK.
