However, his appointment to the SC was purely political. He did not have the academic credentials to make him the most qualified person to be nominated to the SC. Sotomayor, on the other hand, went on to Princeton where she graduated Number 2 in her class and then went on to Yale Law School where she was editor of the Law Journal. She has also been on the Federal Bench for 17 years and whose opinions have been cited by her peers more often than any other Federal Judge.
